City offices move to new Iloilo City Hall on Dec. 15

Six city department offices will transfer to the new Iloilo City Hall on December 15, according to city vice mayor Jose Espinosa III, currently the officer in charge of the city mayors’ office.

Some offices will start to transfer in new Iloilo City Hall on December 15, 2011.

Espinosa said those to transfer first are offices in leased offices at the Angeles Arcade whose contract lease will end by end of the year. These include the City Planning and Development Office, City Health, Local Civil Registrar, Traffic Management and Transportation Regulation Office, Barangay Secretariat and Department of Public Services.

All the rest of offices will transfer starting January 15, 2012 such as the Sangguniang Panlungsod and SP Secretariat, other offices such as the OSCA, city Comelec, public employment service office, city library and PLEB at the Iloilo terminal market and offices at the Robinson Place such as all offices under the City Mayor’s Office, city environment and natural resources office, city legal, city treasurer, city accountant, city budget and city assessor,

Espinosa said that construction of the new Iloilo city hall is almost complete and ready for its inauguration during the Dinagyang Festival slated by the fourth week of January 2012.

President Benigno Aquino III will lead in the inaugural rites and see the world famous Dinagyang competition. United States Ambassador Harry Thomas also promised to come and see the Dinagyang in 2012.
