Fishing vessel crew from Alimodian positive for COVID-19

Another crew of a fishing vessel docked in Iloilo City is positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to Iloio Provincial Health Office.

Dr. Patricia Grace Trabado of Iloilo PHO confirmed that the 34-year-old male crew who is a native of Alimodian, Iloilo was infected with COVID-19 by his co-worker from Hinigaran, Negros Occidental who tested positive with the disease last May 15 and classified as WV#102.

The 38-year-old patient from Hinigaran is admitted to a private hospital in Iloilo City, while the Alimodian-native, who is asymptomatic, is isolated in the fishing vessel.

Both patients were among those 18 crews of the fishing vessel which came from Navotas, Manila, and now docked in Iloilo City. Specimens were already taken from the rest of the crews, and the results are still pending.

According to Dr. Ma. Sophia Pulmones of Department of Health Region 6, the fishing vessel departed from Manila on May 10 and arrived in Iloilo City on May 11.
