DOH: COVID-19 death toll breaches 100

The nationwide death toll for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) passed 100 on Thursday, according to the Department of Health.

In a virtual press conference, DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III announced that there are 11 new patients who died from the dreaded disease bringing the total to 107.

Duque also announced that there are 322 new patients of COVID-19 in the country, which makes the total of confirmed cases to 2,633. The total number of patients who have recovered is at 51.

The health department also reported the 1,275 negative tests of persons under investigation (PUIs).

The DOH has said cases are bound to increase as the government expands its testing efforts.
