Dinagyang Opening Salvo road closures this January 12

Downtown roads will be closed starting 12 noon of Jan. 12 for the Opening Salvo of 50th Iloilo Dinagyang Festival.

The following streets are declared No Entry:
* General Luna Street from corner Jalandoni St. to corner Muelle Loney St.
*Delgado Street from corner Jalandoni St. to corner F. Caram St.
* Ledesma Street from corner Mabini St. to corner Iznart St.
* J. de Leon Street from Quezon St. to corner Iznart St.
* Aldeguer Street from corner Iznart St. to corner Muelle Loney St.
* Mapa Street from corner Gen. Blanco to corner JM Basa St.
* Guanco Street from corner Muelle Loney to corner Rizal St.
* Ortiz Street from corner Rizal St. to corner JM Basa St.
* Rizal Street from corner Iznart St. to Ortiz St.
* Whole stretch of JM Basa Street and Fermin Caram Street
*Valeria Street from corner J. de Leon St. to Gen. Luna St.
* Quezon Street from corner J. de Leon to corner Gen. Luna St.
* Mabini Street from corner Ledesma St. to corner Gen. Luna St.

Declared as One Way are Muelle Loney Street from Rizal, La Paz or Drilon Bridge towards Quirino Bridge; Rizal, Lapuz from Rizal Statue towards Barangay Rizal, La Paz; and J. de Leon Street from corner Jalandoni St. towards Fuentes St.

Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) are not allowed to enter at Ledesma Street from corner Jalandoni St. to corner Mabini St.; Luna Street from corner Huervana to Forbes Bridge; and Muelle Loney St. from corner Quirino Brdige towards Peralta St.

Villa, Mandurriao, SM City Proper PUJs coming from the direction of MH Del Pilar and B. Aquino should pass at Gen. Luna Street, turn right to Jalandoni St. and proceed to J. De Leon St., turn left to Fuentes St. where they can load and unload their passengers. In going back, they should pass Delgado St. then turn right to Infante Avenue and proceed to their normal route towards their place of origin.

Baluarte Derecho PUJs coming from the direction of Molo should pass at Gen. Luna St. turn right to Jalandoni St., and proceed to J. De Leon St. Turn left to Fuentes St. where they can load and unload their passengers. In going back, they should pass Ledesma St. to their normal route towards their place of origin.

Baluarte and Calumpang PUJs coming from the direction of Lopez Jaena (Baluarte), in going to City Proper should pass Ledesma, turn right to Jalandoni, turn left to J. de Leon and turn left to Fuentes Street where they can load and unload passengers. In going back, they should turn left to Ledesma towards Tanza to their respective place of origin.

Timawa PUJs coming from the direction of Timawa Avenue in going to City Proper should pass by Delgado, turn right to Jalandoni, then turn left to J. de Leon, and turn left to Fuentes where they can load and unload their passengers. In going back, they should turn left to Ledesma St. passing their normal route towards their place of origin.

Ungka ITGSI Diversion PUJs coming from the direction of B. Aquino Avenue in going to City Proper should pass at Tanza or Infante Avenue, turn left Lopez Jaena St., right to Ledesma St., turn right to Jalandoni, turn left to J. de Leon Street, then turn left to Fuentes Street where they can load or unload their passengers. In going back, they should turn left to Delgado St., turn right to Infante Avenue and proceed to their normal route towards their place of origin.

Jaro CPU and Jaro Liko PUJs coming from the direction of Jaro should pass to E. Lopez St. towards Luna, La Paz and turn to Huervana Street, then turn left to Rizal fronting La Paz Market where they can load and unload their passenger. In going back, they should pass Luna Street passing their normal route and on to their place of origin.

La Paz PUJs coming from Huervana Street should turn left at Rizal Street, La Paz, turn right to Drilon Bridge to Muelle Loney up to the back of Provincial Capitol where they can load and unload their passengers. In going back, they should turn left at Quirino Bridge turn left to Rizal Street, Lapuz up to Rizal Street, La Paz and turn right Huervana passing their normal route towards their place of origin.

Bo. Obrero and Lapuz PUJs coming from Jalandoni, Lapuz should turn right to Rizal, Lapuz up to Rizal, La Paz, turn left to Drilon Bridge to Muello Loney and proceed at the back of Provincial Capitol where they can load and unload their passengers. In going back, they should turn left to Quirino Bridge, turn right to Rizal, Lapuz and pass their normal route towards their place of origin.

Parola PUJs coming from the direction of Zamora should pass Rizal Street, turn left to Ortiz St., turn right to Gen. Blanco, turn left to Rizal St., turn right to Quezon St., turn left to J. de Leon, turn left to Fuentes St., turn left to Rizal. In going back, they should turn left to Mabini St., turn right to J. de Leon, turn right to Quezon, turn left to Rizal, turn right to General Blanco, turn left to Ortiz, turn right to Rizal, and turn left to Zamora towards their place of origin.

Private vehicles are allowed to enter City Proper area except on streets where the parade is being held, and on streets declared as No Entry to all types of vehicles.

Private vehicles coming from Baluarte and Calumpang going to Arrastre should pass Rizal Street, turn right to General Blanco, turn left to Ortiz, turn right to Rizal, and turn right to General Hughes towards Arrastre.

All trucks and trailers coming from Jalandoni Lapuz, Bo. Obrero, Fort San Pedro PPA Area, Plaza La Paz, Tanza area, and B. Aquino Avenue are not allowed to go in or out of City Proper during the event. (By Merianne Grace Ereñeta/ Iloilo City PIO)
