Iloilo City to reward barangays with best anti-COVID initiatives

Iloilo City Government will give cash incentives to barangays with laudable efforts and achievements in the fight against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said that his administration is launching “Bato, Iloilo. Bato Barangay Ko!” campaign which will award P1.6 million of cash prizes to model barangays starting this December.

“‘Bato, Iloilo. Bato Barangay Ko!’ was conceptualized to highlight our city’s continuing recovery and the Ilonggos’ resilience despite the on-going global health crisis brought about by COVID-19,” Treñas posted via his official Facebook page.

‘Bato, Iloilo. Bato Barangay Ko’ campaign will hand out the following awards, with corresponding cash gifts:

  • Most Effective Barangay Info Drive Against COVID-19
  • Most Active Barangay Council Against COVID-19
  • Most Active Barangay SK Against COVID-19
  • Most Active Barangay Social Media Campaign Against COVID-19

“We want to reward the efforts, cooperation, and initiatives of the barangays and the community in their collective fight against COVID-19. And, to encourage leaders in the barangays to explore and implement programs that will best protect their residents from the pandemic,” Trenas added.
