Iloilo City Charter Day 2015 Schedule of Events

Iloilo City will have a 6-week celebration of 78th Charter Day, and the City Tourism Office has released the schedule of events for the founding anniversary. Check the activities and venues below.

Iloilo was formally inaugurated as city on August 25, 1937 by virtue of Commonwealth Act No. 158 which was signed into law on July 16, 1937.

Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog first institutionalized the celebration on 2010, and it have been a major event in the city since then.

Iloilo City Charter Day 2015 Schedule

  • August 7-9: Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog Shootfest at Ticud, Lapaz
  • August 10: Iloilo City Moments and Memories Painting Contest at La Fiesta Hotel
  • August 14: Pulong Pulong on Real Property Tax at Covered Gym, Mandurriao
  • August 15-16: Arte sa Kalye at Esplanade 2
  • August 15-16: Inter-school Arnis Tournament at Joe III Garden
  • August 18-25: Diskwento Sale at All establishments in Iloilo City
  • August 18: Mr. & Miss Swimsuit and Talent Competition at SM City Iloilo
  • August 20: Mr. & Miss Casual Gown Competition at Robinsons Place Iloilo
  • August 21: Extemporaneous and Oratorical speaking contests at Robinsons Place Iloilo
  • August 22: Quiz Bee at Robinsons Iloilo
  • August 21-22: Mayor’s Debate Cup Inter-HS at Iloilo City Hall
  • August 21: Job Fair at Robinsons Iloilo
  • August 22: Mr. & Miss Iloilo City Coronation Night
  • August 22: Philippine National Triathlon Trials (Race for the Iloilo River) at Joe III Garden
  • August 23-24: Mom and Baby Expo 2015 at Robinsons Iloilo
  • August 24: Mass Wedding (78 couples) at Amigo Plaza Mall
  • August 25: Charter Day Parade at Iloilo Capitol Grounds
  • August 25: Mayor’s Ball and recognition of the Most Outstanding City Employees
  • August 30: Cosplay fest 2015 at SM City Iloilo
