The Iloilo City Government, led by Mayor Raisa Treñas, continues to advance digital education in public schools with the turnover of 10 laptops to Calaparan Elementary School on March 17, in partnership with Carelon Global Solutions Philippines.

The initiative forms part of the city’s broader commitment to complete 66 school projects aimed at improving learning environments and equipping schools with essential tools for 21st-century education. An additional 10 laptops are expected to be delivered in the coming days.

Mayor Treñas shared that Calaparan Elementary School was prioritized after she personally heard a teacher’s appeal during a visit to the area. In response, the city extended support not only through digital equipment, but also through ongoing school building repairs and plans to establish a dedicated computer laboratory.

The newly turned-over laptops are expected to enhance lesson planning, improve classroom delivery, and create more interactive learning experiences for both teachers and students. With access to better technology, learners will be more equipped to meet the demands of an increasingly digital world.

City officials emphasized that bridging the digital divide remains a key priority, especially as technology becomes an essential component of modern education.

“Together, buligan naton ang kada eskwelahan nga mangin digitally ready kag ang kabataang Ilonggo may equal opportunity to succeed,” Treñas added.

Through sustained collaboration with private sector partners, the Iloilo City Government aims to ensure that all schools become digitally ready, underscoring its commitment to empowering Ilonggo students with the tools and skills needed for the future.
