Indigenous Fiber Fashion Fair celebrates Iloilo’s weaving heritage

Indigenous Fiber Fashion Fair at SM City Iloilo

The 12th Indigenous Fiber Fashion Fair is set to rule the runway this August 24-30, 2019 at the SM City Iloilo.

The Iloilo Provincial Government in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Region 6 and SM City Iloilo will again host the annual event, with the aim of preserving the region’s hand-loom weaving as a cultural heritage.

The event also serves as a platform for local designers to showcase their signature designs, extending help to weaving communities and entrepreneurs with the purpose of keeping the tradition alive.

John Montinola and Ayan Jorda will open the show on August 24 with Grandiosa. Habol Miagaoanon courtesy of the Municipality of Miagao, and Hablon Moda by Jeff Ticao will be on August 25 and 26, repectively.

Peach Garde and Ysther Grejaldo’s Hermosa on August 27 will be followed by Anyag by Niño Damasco and Edward Sales on August 28. Annie Cañonaso will be featured in De Moda in an accessory fashion show on August 29, while Lexter Badana and Jet Torrento caps the show on August 30 with Preciosa.

The Indigenous Fiber Fashion Fair is a one of a kind event that showcases the unique textiles and hand-loom collections emerging in the fashion industry.

Shows will start 6pm at the Northpoint Event Center.
