Metro Iloilo Hospital brings smiles to kids with cancer

Metro Iloilo Hospital and Medical Center Inc.(MIHMCI), in partnership with Friends of Cancer Kids Iloilo Foundation, Inc., gave hope and smiles to young cancer patients during the YOU CAN. WE CAN. Activity at the hospital’s Ancillary Building on March 22, 2019.

MIHMCI brought in special inspirational guest speaker Mr. Atho dela Cruz, a Relationship Coach and Trainer specializing in Stress Management and Life Purpose, to conduct a workshop for kids with cancer and their parents and guardians.

In his talk, dela Cruz emphasized to kids and parents the value of happy disposition, positivity and ample rest in healing and wellness of cancer patients. The workshop also included joyful singing and magic tricks which the beneficiaries of Friends of Cancer Kids Iloilo Foundation, Inc. really enjoyed.

Friends of Cancer Kids Iloilo Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that helps raise funds for treatment of poor children with cancer.

Dr. Danny Encarnacion, MIHMCI President and CEO, expressed the support of the hospital in the activities of Foundation.

“We will be working hand in hand with you. Metro Iloilo Hospital will have its facilities opened para sa kinahanglanon sang aton nga mga kabataan,” said Dr. Encarnacion.

MIHMCI is a 110-bed capacity Level 2 hospital which has 40 specialist doctor clinics, and state-of-the-art equipment. The 6-storey hospital is also the first general health facility in Panay to have a pneumatic delivery system that diverts directly to stations, complemented by a fully-integrated computerized electronic health record system.
