MORE Power welcomes two big Pavia businesses in ongoing franchise expansion

Panay News migration to MORE Power

PAVIA, Iloilo — Two prominent establishments in the Municipality of Pavia have officially transitioned to MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power), marking another step in the company’s ongoing expansion beyond Iloilo City.

On February 18, 2026, Marlu’s Restaurant became the first restaurant in Pavia to migrate to MORE Power as its electricity distributor. On the same day, Panay News made history as the first publishing company in the municipality to complete the transfer.

Milestone for Pavia’s Business Community

The migration ceremony at Marlu’s Restaurant was attended by owner Joaquin T. Cocjin, Pavia Municipal Administrator Joanna Mantilla, representatives from the Municipal Engineer’s Office, and MORE Power executives led by Chief Operating Officer Engr. Paul Almedilla.

Meanwhile, Panay News’ ceremony gathered its Marketing Director, Ms. Leah Fajardo, together with officers from MORE Power and officials of the Pavia local government.

Fajardo expressed optimism about the move, noting that the company had been anticipating MORE Power’s expansion into Pavia.

“We are very glad to officially be part of MORE Power, especially with its expansion here in the Municipality of Pavia. When it was reported that Pavia was included in MORE Power’s expansion, we patiently waited for it. To all consumers who wish to avail the services provided by MORE Power, do not hesitate because its service is already tested and proven. It feels good that we ourselves are now able to experience it,” she said.

Strengthening Power Distribution in Pavia

For MORE Power, the successful migration of the two establishments signals growing confidence among commercial stakeholders in its services.

Chief Operating Officer Engr. Paul Almedilla welcomed the trust extended by both companies.

“MORE Power is happy with the trust that Panay News and Marlu’s Restaurant have given to us. We assure them of quality service. We will continue to expand as planned, as projects are already in the pipeline. The distribution utility is on track in this continuous transition,” Almedilla said.

The migration aligns with legislative efforts to expand MORE Power’s franchise. A bill filed on September 20, 2021 by Iloilo 2nd District Representative Michael Gorriceta and Iloilo 4th District Representative Braeden John Biron seeks to extend the company’s franchise coverage to ensure improved and more dependable power distribution in additional areas.

Seamless Transition, Growth-Oriented Vision

MORE Power emphasized that the transfer process was carried out seamlessly, ensuring uninterrupted operations for both establishments. The utility also reaffirmed its readiness to support economic growth in its extended franchise areas, positioning reliable electricity service as a backbone for business expansion and modernization in Pavia.

With more transitions expected in the coming months, the successful onboarding of Marlu’s Restaurant and Panay News sets the tone for broader commercial participation in Pavia’s evolving power landscape — signaling a new chapter in local energy distribution.
