The Iloilo City Government, through the Federation of Senior Citizens, Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), and the Uswag Atipan Center, officially launched Project RAISA in celebration of Elderly Filipino Month, offering free medical, dental, haircut, massage, manicure, pedicure, and wellness services for senior citizens.
Mayor Raisa Treñas expressed her joy in seeing the city’s elderly residents enjoying the activities.
“Nalipay gid ako nga makita nga naga-enjoy ang aton mga seniors bisan sa simple nga paagi, napalipay ta man sila,” she said.
During the event, Mayor Treñas also announced the addition of 1,000 new local pensioners this year and another 1,000 by next year, ensuring that more senior citizens benefit from the city’s pension program.
In line with her continuing support for the elderly, the mayor further shared that free maintenance medicines will be distributed to help lessen the medical expenses of senior citizens.
Project RAISA reflects the city’s ongoing commitment to care for and uplift the well-being of Iloilo’s senior citizens through inclusive health and wellness initiatives.
