Sun Life launches health product for life’s critical moments

Sun Life ICU Protect

In an effort to offer Filipinos more solutions in protecting their physical and financial health, Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. has launched Sun ICU Protect, a health insurance plan that provides benefits during life’s critical moments.

Sun ICU Protect acts as a financial safety net in case one is diagnosed with life-threatening conditions that require intensive care and life support. It includes benefits for daily and even long-term intensive care unit confinement and coverage for specific major critical illness conditions such as stroke, heart attack, cancer, and a major surgery for coronary artery bypass graft.

“We understand that our clients’ top concern remains to be health and safety, and we wanted to offer them a solution that can protect their health holistically and in the long-term,” Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. President Alex Narciso said.

It likewise offers valuable benefits for preventive care to help keep clients healthy and lower their risk of acquiring life-threatening diseases. Not only will they be provided preventive health care benefits such as a choice of either a preventive medical exam, vaccination, or COVID-19 screening test, but they will also be given access as a Gold member to GoWell, Sun Life’s health and wellness community.

Meanwhile, the life insurance feature covers clients up to 100 years old, with a guaranteed life insurance benefit of 100% of the policy’s face amount even after the major critical illness and other benefits have been claimed.

“We want to provide our clients with the best care by protecting them when they’re most vulnerable. With Sun ICU Protect, our clients can have peace of mind because they are ready for any health emergencies and ensure their family’s bright future,” Narciso added.
