Meanwhile, Sun Life’s campaign to promote fitness through walking, Go Beyond Steps Challenge, was also awarded a Silver Anvil Award. Launched prior the pandemic, the campaign quickly shifted to digital as lockdowns were imposed. It proved to be more relevant as it prompted employees to exercise despite being stuck indoors. Digital tracking, community workouts, and exciting rewards kept everyone engaged. Moreover, as employees reached their monthly steps goal, Mingo meals were donated to the Negrense Volunteers for Change Foundation, giving them more reason to exercise.

“The health and safety of our employees are our top priority, even prior to the pandemic. We are always eager to mount programs that would ensure their overall wellness,” Sun Life Chief Human Resources Officer Yahmin Mattison said. “To have our efforts recognized by the Anvil Awards panel is an honor. This will inspire us to be even more creative and innovative in engaging the Sun Life community.”

An annual recognition program for exceptional public relations and tools, the Anvil Awards is spearheaded by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.
