Young leaders to ‘assume office’ on Iloilo City Hall

Forty-nine students from public and private high schools in Iloilo City have taken over highest positions in the city government in line with the 38th Boys and Girls Week celebration of the Rotary Club of Iloilo City.

“This kind of undertaking is a very good training ground for our youth so that they will know how it is to be in public service, know first-hand the problems our society and how to best address them,” Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog said.

Each head of City hall departments and offices have a counterpart boy or girl official that they will mentor about their work and services.

They were also asked to join in official functions and meetings so they will know the feel of working in the government.

The young officials were introduced to officials and employees of various Iloilo City Hall departments and offices during the flag raising ceremony on Monday, Sept. 24.
