Mayor Raisa S. Treñas is eyeing the establishment of a second RiseAble Early Intervention Center to expand the Iloilo City Government’s services for children with special needs.
The proposed center is being considered at a portion of the La Paz Public Library, also known as the Judge Delfin Jaranilla Memorial Learning Center, to accommodate more children who need early intervention and developmental support.
The establishment of RiseAble Center was among Mayor Raisa’s priorities during her first year in office under the RISEAble Program: Kaya sang Kada Bata, which provides support services for children with special needs aged zero to five years old.
The planned expansion underscores the city government’s commitment to ensuring that every child has equal opportunities to receive quality care and early intervention services, regardless of their needs.
Meanwhile, the first RiseAble Center in Molo District has started learning and development sessions for 28 new learners. Another 28 children from its first batch have already progressed to the next stage, with 20 of them have to undergo partial integration as part of the center’s transition program.
With the planned second center, the city hopes to reach more children and families who need specialized early intervention and developmental support. (Iloilo City PIO)
