The Iloilo City Government has extended financial assistance to families affected by a fire that hit Zone 8, Barangay Veterans Village in City Proper on September 1.
The fire affected nine households, with five houses totally damaged and four others partially damaged.
To help the families recover and rebuild, the city government provided ₱10,000 in financial assistance to each household whose home was totally damaged and ₱5,000 to each household with a partially damaged home.
Mayor Raisa Treñas expressed sympathy to the affected families while noting that no lives were lost in the incident.
“Wala ta ginapangayo ang amo sini nga disgrasya, pero salamat gid nga wala sang nadulaan sang kabuhi. Ang importante, okay ang aton mga pamilya,” Treñas said.
The city government also thanked individuals and groups who immediately extended assistance to the fire victims.
City officials said they will continue monitoring the situation of the affected families as they begin recovering from the incident.
