Vitarich, Visayas Coco choose MORE Power as new distribution partner in Pavia

Two major businesses in Pavia, Iloilo have recently transitioned to MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power), citing the need for reliable and responsive electricity services to support their operations.

Feed mill company Vitarich Corporation completed its migration to MORE Power on June 2, 2026, followed by coconut oil manufacturer Visayas Coco Development Incorporated on July 8.

The transitions mark another step in MORE Power’s expansion into Pavia, as the distribution utility continues to serve more commercial and industrial customers in the municipality.

For Vitarich, the migration was completed ahead of schedule. Company Process Engineer Engr. Roy F. Almirante said the transition was smoother and faster than expected.

“Very easy ang transition. We expected it to take around four hours, but they completed it in only two hours. And now, we are running on MORE Power,” Almirante said.

He added that Vitarich looks forward to building a long-term relationship with MORE Power and supporting the programs the distribution utility may offer to its customers.

“We are looking forward to a lifetime partnership with MORE Power. We want to make sure that we are getting the right service. Kung ano man ang program ni MORE Power for us, we are willing to support,” he said.

The Vitarich migration ceremony was attended by company engineers and officials from the Local Government Unit of Pavia, together with MORE Power Executive Chief Operating Officer Engr. Ronald Torres and Vice President for Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Customer Care Maricris Cabalhin.

Meanwhile, Visayas Coco Development Incorporated, which relies on continuous electricity for its coconut oil manufacturing operations, also made the switch to MORE Power in July.

Chief Operating Officer Christian Yu said reliable electricity is essential to maintaining the company’s daily production and avoiding costly downtime.

“Since we are an oil company, we need to produce oil daily, so there should be no interruption or downtime,” Yu said.

According to Yu, the company previously experienced power interruptions that lasted at least four hours and sometimes longer. These disruptions affected production and resulted in significant losses.

He also cited difficulties in reaching the previous electricity provider and concerns over response time when service interruptions occurred.

With the transition to MORE Power, Yu said the company is looking forward to more reliable power service and encouraged other businesses to consider the benefits of having a dependable distribution partner.

“To other companies that are thinking of migrating to MORE Power, if you want a more reliable source of power, make the switch,” he said.

Yu joined MORE Power officials during Visayas Coco Development Incorporated’s migration ceremony.

MORE Power’s expanded franchise, which covers areas beyond Iloilo City, was filed by 2nd District Representative Michael Gorriceta and 4th District Representative Braeden John Biron on September 20, 2021, with the goal of bringing modern and reliable power distribution services to more communities in Iloilo.

The migration of Vitarich Corporation and Visayas Coco Development Incorporated reflects the growing demand among businesses for reliable electricity as they expand their operations.

For industrial and commercial establishments where even a few hours of downtime can translate into production delays and financial losses, dependable power distribution remains a critical part of doing business.

As more businesses in Pavia make the transition, MORE Power is positioning itself to support the municipality’s growing commercial and industrial activity with expanded distribution services and greater customer choice.
