AJUY, ILOILO — The 62 MWp Ajuy Solar Project of SOLARIS has been recognized by the national government and the Department of Energy as an Energy Project of National Significance.
Supporting the country’s broader transition toward renewable energy, the project is also part of the government’s Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP).
The project is now more than 90% complete and is on track to begin operations in June 2026.
Once completed, the project is set to become the biggest solar power plant in Panay and is expected to strengthen power supply reliability while contributing competitively priced renewable energy to the grid.
At the peak of construction, more than 700 workers were employed, many of whom came from Ajuy and neighboring municipalities. Additional jobs and long-term opportunities are expected during the operational phase.
SOLARIS acknowledged the strong support of the LGU of Ajuy, the Provincial Government of Iloilo, partner agencies, and host communities throughout the project’s development.
With additional renewable energy developments planned across the province, Iloilo continues to strengthen its position as an emerging renewable energy hub in the Visayas.
