Cebu Pacific Air will launch the first Iloilo international flight on Thursday, November 8 from Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan to Hongkong.
The inauguration ceremony headed by Tourism Region-6 Director Helen Catalbas will start at 6:00 in the evening, and the departure of Hongkong flight is schedule at 11:10 PM. Iloilo to Hongkong flights will be on a twice a week schedule.
Cebu Pacific will also start serving Iloilo-Singapore flights the next day, November 9, with regular schedule of three times a week.
The opening of regular international flights from Iloilo airport will be a big boost to tourism industry in Iloilo and the rest of Western Visayas as more tourist are expected visit the region. Catalbas said that they have estimated a 15-percent increase in domestic and foreign tourist arrivals this year from last year’s total number of 2.47 million.
