As part of ease of doing business in the metropolis, Iloilo City Government opened offsite payment centers in three malls, namely, Marymart Mall, Festive Walk, and The Atrium on Tuesday, December 20.
These offsite payment centers will start accepting tax payments of businesses. Renewals of business permits will also be easier and more accessible, and will mitigate overcrowding in Iloilo City Hall.
The payment centers are fully furnished, with personnel assigned to assist businessmen. Application for Integrated Business Permits and Licensing System (IBPLS) is also available in these centers. Under IBPLS, processing of permits will be digital or fully online.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, who led the ribbon cutting ceremony in Festive Walk, said that these centers will make transactions more efficient and accessible to the public.
“We are constantly looking for ways to bring our services closer to the people, and ensure they feel and see that the city government is always working for them,” Treñas said.
The opening at Marymart Center was led by Councilor Miguel S. Treñas, together with Iloilo Business Club, Inc. leaders Emil Diez and Marissa Segovia, Bgy. Ed Ganzon Kap. Jose Juayang, and BPLO Head Norman Tabud.
Aside from these three centers, another one in SM City Iloilo is set to open next week. Two other malls, Robinsons Main and GT Mall in Molo, have also expressed their intent to house more offsite payment centers of the Iloilo City Government.
