The Iloilo City Government, through the City Population Office and Gender and Development Team, has chosen this year’s The Outstanding Women of Iloilo City (TOWIL) awardees.

“The Iloilo City Government recognizes that women are instruments not only for nurturing our children, but also for fostering peace, bringing change and long-term development to our society,” Mayor Jose S. Espinosa III said.
TOWIL is a yearly event by the Iloilo City Government which aims to recognize women from Iloilo City who have made a significant contribution in their respective fields.
“We are now on the 11th year of TOWIL and aside from the fact that being an awardee gives you high morale as a person, most of these women pay it forward and return their services to Iloilo City Government,” said City Population Officer Mary Ann Ramos.
The awardees were chosen by the screening committee chaired by Atty. Mary Joan Montaño-Pallada, and Atty. Ricaflor Obsequio, Ma. Cristina Octavio, Leo Elevencione, and Dr. Suzette Leal as members.
Awarding ceremony will be on March 22, 2019 at Robinson’s Place Iloilo. (Merianne Grace Ereñeta/Iloilo City PIO)
