PCCI Special Citation to Iloilo City as Most Business Friendly LGU

Iloilo City was honored with a Special Citation by Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) as one of the Most Business-Friendly local government units in the country.

The commendable efforts in adopting and instituting innovative and best practices in good governance, in partnership with the private sector, conferred the city with award during the 48th Philippine Business Conference and Expo held at the Fiesta Pavilion of The Manila Hotel in Manila.

“We are very pleased to share that our efforts to promote Iloilo City as a business-friendly city are recognized through PCCI’s Most Business Friendly LGUs through a special citation. We continue to attract investors which also boosts employment opportunities in the metro,” said Mayor Jerry P. Treñas.

“During the validation, we were able to share the establishment of our share joint inspection team, off-site business centers, online safety seal and business permits application and renewal, creation of Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office, promotion of micro and small enterprise development, partnership with Project Lungsod for Smart City, MIGEDC, incentives for investments, no increase in real property tax, business-friendly and consultations, Iloilo City bike culture, the establishment of ICARE Centers, the value of Community College and Technical Institute, Green Metro, Innovate Iloilo Project, Iloilo City Business Coordination Council, Public-Private Partnership, and many more to highlight our best practices in restoring business operations and help boost our economy pushing the city towards progress,” he added.

PCCI held this year’s search for local government units that have been successful in creating an environment that is conducive to business growth in line with theme, The Philippines is ready and open for business.

The organization gives annual recognition to LGU that have demonstrated outstanding efforts in instituting good governance reforms to promote trade and investments, transparency, accountability, and efficiency in delivering business services to generate inclusive and sustainable growth, and fast track local economic development in their localities, and touted as the country’s biggest corporate event.
