It’s that time of the year again when the air in Guimaras turns sweeter, the streets livelier, and the nights more musical. The Manggahan Festival 2025 is in full swing — and if you haven’t planned your trip yet, here’s why you absolutely should.
Held every May in celebration of the province’s identity and agricultural heritage, the Manggahan Festival is Guimaras’ signature event — a tribute to its most iconic fruit: the world’s sweetest mangoes.
It All Begins With a Mango
The celebration began with a festive program at the Capitol Grounds in San Miguel, Jordan, highlighted by the ceremonial mango picking led by Governor JC Rahman A. Nava. This symbolic act reflects Guimaras’ proud roots in agriculture.
Congresswoman Ma. Lucille L. Nava called the event: “A vibrant showcase of our rich agricultural heritage, our world-famous mangoes, and the resilient spirit of Guimarasnons.”
Also launched that day is the irresistible Mango Eat-All-You-Can, open daily to visitors; Panabor sa Isla, the island’s food fest featuring mango-infused local cuisine; and the Regional Agri-Eco Trade Fair, spotlighting sustainable and innovative products from across Western Visayas.
