The Iloilo City leg of the Caravan saw almost 200 attendees from 10 cooperatives from across the Region.

The program also included an open forum for cooperatives, operators and drivers, to share and clarify their concerns on the program and encourage discussion between government and stakeholders.

Personnel from Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) and the Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) were also in the event to give light on their respective loan/lending requirements and scheme. A PAGIBIG Fund representative was also present to discuss various agency programs while Department of Transportation (DOTr) representative presented key points on the implementation of PUVMP across the country.

To be held across different regions in Visayas, the Modern PUV Caravan with the theme “Arangkada ng Pagbabago Tungo sa Kaunlaran” showcased various modes of Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) compliant units to its stakeholders – drivers, operators, and the commuting public.

The PUV Modernization Program is the flagship non-infrastructure project of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte with the goal of providing a comfortable life for all Filipinos through a safe, reliable, convenient, affordable and environmentally-sustainable transportation system in the country.
