MORE Power Energy Sourcing Manager Ralph Dorilag on one-time refund.

Good news to all Iloilo City consumers! MORE Power will implement a one-time refund of P2.7644 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for the billing cycle of November 18 to December 14, 2023.

This was announced by MORE Power’s Energy Sourcing Manager Engr. Ralph Dorilag in a press conference Tuesday, November 14.

Engr. Dorilag explained that the refund is based on the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Resolution no. 14 series of 2022, or the resolution adapting the revised rules on automatic cost adjustment throw-up mechanism and corresponding confirmation process for distribution utilities.

The one-time refund of Php 2.7644 per kWh was computed by ERC and implemented by MORE Power.

“Ang ini nga refund naga cover sang accumulated differences sa billed amount sang pass through charges halin Enero tubtub Setyembre sini nga tuig. Kon ikumparar natun sa allowable nga network revenues. Ang estimated rate, subong nga bulan may ara kita rate nga 10.55 kwh, sa sunod nga bulan malab-ot kita 8 kwh nalang. Because of the additional rate reduction,” says Engr. Ralph Dorilag, Energy Sourcing Manager of MORE Power.

For a household that consumes 300 kwh a month, they can save around 800 pesos for their bill this December.

Engr. Dorilag clarified that on December 15, billing rates will be back to its regular rate.

Power supply rates in the global market remains unpredictable but MORE Power assures its consumers that it continues to look for a cheaper power supply to ease the burden of its consumers.

“Indi natun mapakut gid ang trend sang kuryente pero makasalig kita nga ang MORE Power nagapangita gid sang pamaagi nga ma-reduce atun rates. Based sa atun suppliers pero damu abi factors like the WESM prices, the supply and demand of electricity market. So may other factors pa nga ga affect sang atun prices. Rest assured MORE Power is finding ways nga mapanubo gid ang atun kuryente,” Dorilag added.

Around 90 thousand consumers are expected to benefit from this one-time refund.
