PCCI-Iloilo pays tribute to outstanding Ilonggo entrepreneurs

PCCI Ilonggo Entrepreneur of the Year award

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Iloilo Chapter Inc. (PCCI-Iloilo) is honoring outstanding Ilonggo entrepreneurs through the Ilonggo Entrepreneur Awards held on December 28 at the National Museum of the Philippines in Western Visayas.

The Ilonggo Entrepreneur Awards pays tribute to the local entrepreneurs for showing resiliency, creativity, and inspiration amidst challenges brought by various circumstances.

The said award has three categories namely: Aspiring Ilonggo Entrepreneur Award, Young Ilonggo Entrepreneur Award and the Ilonggo Entrepreneur Award to give due recognition to our Ilonggo entrepreneurs whichever stage their business might be – from startup to established business owners.

The Aspiring Ilonggo Entrepreneur Award Award is given to aspiring, and inspiring entrepreneurs who have the entrepreneurial acumen and is committed to address the society’s issues and problems through their business.

This year’s nominees for the category include Rina Malones of Bok Ju, Paulyn Marie Valdez-Maseral of EllieCake, and Christine Joy Sumpia of Maxs Pillow. They have undergone series of mentoring sessions from seasoned Ilonggo business personalities and attended business trainings to further enhance their entrepreneurial skills.

Meanwhile, the Young Ilonggo Entrepreneur Award is given to the most deserving Young Ilonggo Entrepreneur whose qualities and achievements is a cut above the rest and will also be our best representative to the annual and prestigious national search for Injap Sia Young Entrepreneur Awards

The Ilonggo Entrepreneur of the Year Award, on the other hand, is given to the most outstanding Ilonggo Entrepreneur who excels in multiple facets such as business, enterprise, and community involvement.

The recipients of the said awards will be receiving a personalized trophy inspired by the endangered Visayan Hornbill or “tariktik” designed by Ilonggo artist, social innovator, and animist Marrz Capanang. He draws inspiration to the qualities of “tariktik” similar to Ilonggo entrepreneurs – resourceful, adaptive, and steadfast.

Aside from the tariktik-inspired trophy, the recipients of the Aspiring Ilonggo Entrepreneur Award will also receive free booth at the ILOBEX, the region’s biggest trade fair; mentorship with seasoned businessmen and entrepreneurs of PCCI; free PCCI Membership; business trainings and seminars with government agencies and other topnotch private companies; and a cash prize.
