PLDT Group extends aid to Ilonggo frontliners

PLDT Group donation to frontliners

Driven by its core value of “malasakit”, Smart Communications, Inc. and PLDT-Smart Foundation, Inc. have donated care bags to the Iloilo City Government to support their battle against COVID-19. These bags contain essential goods such as facemasks, face shields, alcohol, and grocery items that will assist the city’s frontline workers and other beneficiaries amid the pandemic.

“Iloilo City’s accomplishments in its vaccination efforts and COVID-19 response will not be possible without our hardworking frontliners. Through these care bags, we hope to show our gratitude for the efforts they have been exerting to keep the safety and protection of all Ilonggos,” says Hoyle Raul Disuanco, Group Head and First Vice President of Regional Customer Development-VisMin.

The donation was received by Donna Magno, Head of Iloilo City DRRMO, and Melchor Tan, Iloilo City Administrator. They were joined by representatives from Smart headed by Hoyle Raul Disuanco, Group Head and First Vice President for Smart Regional Customer Development-VisMin; Ediner Tinio, AVP/Center Head for Smart Regional Customer Development-Western Visayas; and Grace Ruperto, AVP/Center Head for Smart Trade Marketing Operations-VisMin.

This initiative is part of PLDT and Smart’s #SafeandSmart advocacy which promotes preparedness and immediate response to disasters through network resilience, continuous availability of communication services, mobile solutions and activities, and relief assistance to help communities mitigate disaster risks.
