In a bold move to ease financial burdens for Filipino households, Primelectric Holdings Inc. (PHI), through its distribution subsidiaries — MORE Power, Negros Power, and Bohol Light — announced substantial electricity rate reductions for June 2025.

These private utilities continue to deliver on their promise of providing affordable, reliable, and efficient power, bringing meaningful relief to families at a time when school-related expenses are top of mind.

Rate Reductions by Area

• MORE Power – Iloilo City: Residential rates dropped by ₱0.61/kWh, from ₱11.12 to ₱10.52 per kWh.
➤ A household consuming 200 kWh per month saves around ₱122.

• Negros Power – Central Negros: Rates fell by ₱0.55/kWh, from ₱11.69 to ₱11.14 per kWh.
➤ That’s a ₱110 monthly savings for an average household.

• Bohol Light – Tagbilaran City: Consumers enjoy the largest cut of ₱0.75/kWh, with rates down from ₱11.07 to ₱10.32 per kWh.
➤ Families using 200 kWh will save approximately ₱150 this month.

These rate drops are primarily due to strategic energy trading at the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) and lower transmission charges, thanks to reduced Ancillary Services and Reserve Market costs.

As a result, MORE Power, Negros Power, and Bohol Light now maintain the lowest residential power rates in their respective regions.

A Shared Commitment to Lower Power Costs

“These rate reductions reflect our commitment to manage power supply strategically, optimize market opportunities, and pass the savings directly to our consumers,” said Roel Z. Castro, President and CEO of Primelectric Holdings Inc.

“We understand the economic pressures faced by households, especially during times like school enrollment season. Every peso saved on electricity is a peso that can go toward food, education, or essentials — and we are proud to help make that possible.”

Castro added that the utilities will continue investing in:
• Infrastructure upgrades
• System loss reduction programs
• Smart market participation

All with one goal in mind: to keep power rates low and service quality high.

Primelectric Holdings Inc. is a leading private utility group focused on modernizing electric distribution systems and delivering affordable, reliable, and sustainable power to Filipino communities.
