SM employees plant trees in Anilao, Iloilo

SM employees in Iloilo together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resourses 6 (DENR 6) held a tree planting activity at Brgy. Cag-an Anilao, Iloilo last October 7, 2018.

Volunteers from the SM City Iloilo along with other SM groups like the SM Markets, SM Savemore, SM Store and Jollibee, agency personnel and partners from the Department of Environment and Natural Resourses 6, Cenro Barotac Nuevo and the members of beneficiary people’s organization Cag-an Upland and Lowland Development Association planted 12,000 fruit bearing tree seedlings in the 24 hectare area in the said barangay.

The tree planting activity is part of the 60 years celebration of SM in the country. It aims to support the environmental programs of the government and the “Grow a Million Trees” campaign of SM Foundation and SM Markets.

In celebration of SM Supermalls’ 60th anniversary, a nationwide tree planting activity was held across different locations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

A total of 60,000 trees were planted with the help of SM volunteers nationwide in this notable project in support of DENR’s National Greening Program.
