Conversations about finances and adulting took a refreshing turn as Sun Life Philippines brought its “Live Bright Trivia Night” to Iloilo City last April 24, creating a lively space where learning met laughter.
Designed as an after-work decompression event, the trivia night gathered young professionals, media practitioners, and content creators into teams for an evening of connection, friendly competition, and meaningful conversations. With nine engaging trivia rounds, participants tested their knowledge while enjoying good food and an easygoing, judgment-free atmosphere.

But beyond the games, the event carried a deeper message: that navigating adulthood—especially finances—doesn’t have to feel overwhelming or intimidating.
“Living bright doesn’t mean having everything figured out—it means feeling more confident with the choices you make,” said Marga Perral, Regional Sales Manager for Visayas at Sun Life Philippines, during her opening remarks.

Her message resonated throughout the night as hosts kept the energy high with playful banter and relatable insights, weaving in everyday financial tips—from budgeting after payday to making it through “petsa de peligro.” The result was an experience that felt both entertaining and empowering.
Adding to the excitement, Team Confidence emerged as the Live Bright Trivia Night Champions. The winning team was composed of Mariela Oladive and Nessa Rhose Acosta of Daily Guardian; Ian Paul Cordero of Iloilo Metropolitan Times; and members of the Iloilo Bloggers Society—Kathy Villalon of Iloilo Updates, Rosmar Villalon of Iloilo Lifestyle and Features, Nonoy Taclino of IloiloToday, Kristina Sy of eatinarary, and Andrea Ortega Guanco of Feature Iloilo.

Other awards such as The Shine Squad and the Glow-Getter Team Award recognized teams for their creativity and energy, alongside raffle prizes for attendees.
More than just a one-night event, “Live Bright Trivia Night” reflects Sun Life’s approach to financial literacy—making it accessible, relatable, and engaging for everyday Filipinos.
As the evening wrapped up, one thing was clear: living bright is not just about preparing for the future—it’s also about enjoying the present, building connections, and taking small, confident steps forward.
