In celebration of World Chocolate Day, Belmont Hotel Iloilo unveiled its Panay Chocolate Collection, a handcrafted assortment that transforms the iconic flavors and delicacies of Panay Island into an elegant chocolate experience.
The launch gathered partners, members of the media, Club Access members, and valued guests for an afternoon celebrating the rich culinary heritage of Panay through chocolate.
Before the official unveiling, guests were treated to a specially curated selection of hors d’oeuvres showcasing local ingredients with a modern twist. The menu featured Tablea-Infused Pork Barbecue Crostini, Bandi Tartlets with Tablea and Tultul Shavings, Cannoli-Inspired Tablea Mousse, and the refreshing Tablea Fizz drink, setting the stage for the hotel’s newest gastronomic offering.
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Panay Chocolate Collection, with each handcrafted chocolate molded into the shape of Panay Island and beautifully presented in a premium gift box.
Each province is represented by a signature local ingredient or delicacy that reflects its unique culinary identity:
🍫Iloilo – Batwan, offering the bright, citrusy notes that define many Ilonggo dishes.
🍫Antique – Bandi, inspired by the province’s beloved peanut brittle with its sweet and nutty flavor.
🍫Capiz – Dilis, balancing sweet and savory flavors reminiscent of the province’s rich coastal cuisine.
🍫Aklan – Ampao, celebrating the light, crisp, and comforting puffed rice delicacy.
According to Belmont Hotel Iloilo, chocolate was chosen as the medium because it is universally loved and serves as the perfect canvas for reimagining the treasured flavors of Panay into a uniquely local chocolate experience.
The Panay Chocolate Collection is available for pre-order until July 10, 2026 for the first production batch, with the first release scheduled on July 22, 2026.
