Metrobank names 2 Ilonggos in Search for Outstanding Teachers 2015

Two educators from Iloilo have made it to the list of Metrobank Foundation’s 10 Outstanding Teachers for 2015.

Professor Rejie F. Palmos of West Visayas State University was one of the winners in the Elementary category, while Dr. Myrna B. Libutaque of Philippine Science High School- Western Visayas Campus bagged the distinction under the Secondary level.

This year, Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI) is giving out gold medallions and cash prize of Php 500,000 each for the a total of 10 winners (4 each in Elementary and Secondary level, and 2 in Higher Education) in recognition of their exemplary contributions to the education of Filipinos.

They will also receive a trophy and a plaque of recognition for their school.

Here’s the complete list of winners:

Elementary

  • Rejie F. Palmos of West Visayas State University (La Paz, Iloilo City)
  • Benjamin M. Castro of Francisco Benitez Elementary School (Tondo, Manila)
  • Amcy M. Esteban of Legarda Elementary School (Sampaloc, Manila)
  • Irene G. Dela Cruz of Carmona Elementary School (Carmona, Cavite)

Secondary

  • Ronaldo C. Reyes of Tabaco National High School (Tabaco City, Albay)
  • Dr. Myrna B. Libutaque of Philippine Science High School- Western Visayas Campus (Jaro, Iloilo City)
  • Milagros C. Banan of Ernesto Rondon High School (Project 6, Quezon City)
  • Ernani S. Fernandez Jr. of Palo National High School (Palo, Leyte)


Higher Education

  • Dr. Thomas Edison E. Dela Cruz of the University of Santo Tomas
  • Dr. Analyn V. Salvador-Amores of University of the Philippines-Baguio

Formal awarding ceremony for this year’s Search for Outstanding Teachers will be on September 3, 2015 as one of the highlights of Metrobank’s 53rd anniversary celebration.
