SM employees celebrate with senior citizens

SM City Iloilo extended yet another support to the community’s senior citizens, with the Employee Volunteerism Program held recently as part of the Grandparents Day celebration.

The project, which encourages employees to take part in community events and to be more involved.

Last September 4, 2018, the mall employees went out of their usual work routines and had an early morning bonding with the members of the Federation of Senior Citizen Affairs of the Philippines (FSCAP)-Iloilo Chapter at their office in the Felicidad Sy Wellness Center in Molo, Iloilo City.

Along with the games, songs and dances, SM City Iloilo brought joy to the elderly by conveying the good news that the mall is going to paint their center for it to have a newer look and to be more conducive for their activities, the center being also utilized as the senior citizens office.

Recently, the Employee Volunteerism Program was also held in the same center wherein employees through their personal generosity, come up with resources to augment the installation of a steel fence of the terrace area of the FSCAP office to shield it from burglars and
to make the area safer for the senior citizens.

SM City Iloilo, through the SM Cares Committee for Senior Citizens Affairs, makes sure to be involved in the welfare of the elderly sector in support of uplifting their well-being and welfare.

SM City Iloilo, along with other SM malls, employs senior citizens and offer them jobs commensurate to their capabilities, such as mall greeters in SM Foodcourt, SM Cinema and mall entrances.
